LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

The addon I use to make my quest log wide, is called DoubleWide, and you can download it here at http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info6887-DoubleWide.html. LightHeaded should work with any quest log that uses QuestLogFrame.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

* Remove the conflict detection code from LightHeaded. Users that choose to run some of the addons that behave improperly
can determine any conflicts on their own. Addons that conflict will be listed on the LightHeaded addon description until t

* Altered the conflict detection system to be a bit more flexible. The only thing I can see tripping it currently are add
ons that actually misbehave, i.e. Armory
* Altered so clicking on a quest in the DEFAULT quest log actually does reset the page/scroll

r258 | Cladhaire-15704 | 2008-11-16 10:56:24 +0000 (Sun, 16 Nov 2008) | 3 lines

* Altered the logic of the LightHeaded display frame, such that it will remember in the same session what page/scroll location you were at for any given quest. This means if you scroll to the bottom of page 3 on a specific quest, select another one and then come back you will go back to that same location.
* Added basic detection for addon conflicts (where the offending addon is causing cyclic scans of the quest log frames). These addons can severely impact the performance of your client when using LightHeaded together with them, so a warning message is displayed.

I have Vista, pls help
Try adding doublewide. I use it in conjunction with Lighthheaded and get 3 panels.

At first I thought it was only the waypoint feature that was not working, and that the problem might be with Cartographer. However, after making sure that I have the latest versions of all addons, the waypoints still wouldn't work. I then realized that none of the links in LightHeaded worked. Clicking, for example, on the name of a quest giver to obtain their coordinates or information gave no response at all, and the associated information page would not open. I was pleasantly surprized a couple of nights ago, when I clicked a link and it was working again. Unfortunately, after doing a couple of quests, it suddenly stopped responding again and it's still not responding when I click any of the LightHeaded links.

Is there any way I could try and debug this issue? I had the impression that LightHeaded stopped responding after doing one of those quests that take over your character. I noticed that it had stopped responding shortly after doing the quest Spiritual Insight in Dragonblight. Any ideas on what I can try to get the links working again?
This has to do with the way that WoW renders the SimpleHTML widget, and there's nothign either you or I can do to "fix" it. You may want to try clicking ABOVE the link slightly.. since it seems many times the button that they generate is offset in that way.

The "3 panels" has nothing to do with LightHeaded. LightHeaded only provides the one extra panel. If you would like your quest log to be twice as wide, you should download the addon DoubleWide.

Yea Vista moves the WoW installation under Users/Public/Games. So if are not running your addons from there, then you will run into issues.

vista is weird

Since wrath came out i have heard many vista users complain about issues with updating their mods and it is because vista moved or duplicated their wow installation. Look for an extra copy of wow on your machine with it's own addons folder to be updated, that is where the game is running from.

Ok, so if I click on a location for an NPC and then complete the quest it was for and afterwards click on Back, I get the following error:

[2008/11/28 23:14:33-39-x1]: LightHeaded-270\LightHeaded.lua:85: bad argument #2 to 'format' (string expected, got nil)
LightHeaded-270\LightHeaded.lua:85: in function `GetQuestName'
LightHeaded-270\LightHeaded.lua:802: in function `UpdateFrame'
LightHeaded-270\LightHeaded.lua:974: in function `OnHyperlinkClick'
LightHeaded-270\LightHeaded.lua:1391: in function <Interface\AddOns\LightHeaded\LightHeaded.lua:1391>

If its not clear how I got this error, let me know and I'll see if I can present it better.
Thanks for the bug report.

I tried reattaching, redownloading and reinstanlling it (Yes, removing the old one.) but it is not coming up anymore. Can you think of any reason why this is happening. I have not downloaded, removed, added, etc...or done anything to my interface differently...can you come up with a solution to this wierd attitude I am getting?
Thanks for the hard work.
There's nothing I can do to help you. You should run through the troubleshooting steps to ensure that LightHeaded is properly installed in the correct location. It sounds like something has changed on your machine, and I do not know how I can possibly help you work through what that problem is. Nothing's changed in LightHeaded that should be causing this issue.
